Love for Miss Kendra & Mr. Steven
Today I write these words with sadness in my heart, but with a truthful message to all. The world lost two unique individuals , one being the “Bonafide Legendary Artist Steven Lucas,” and secondly, the beautiful Miss Kendra aka “Mama K.” Family to each other, they passed away due to drug overdoses. It’s a sad truth knowing they each had so much potential to give back to the world. Nobody is perfect, and to each their own when it comes to facing demons, but the drug world culture ultimately leads to sadness. We could talk about flaws, and everything that was wrong with these two special people but I choose to speak highly in regard to their character. Kendra was a beautiful woman with a heart of gold. She cared about everyone that was in her life especially her children, and she will be deeply missed. It would be untrue to say that we were always friends, because when we first met I judged her differently to the words I chose to speak about in this message. The real truth is I saw growth from the time we met until her end days. I got to know her as a person, and I valued the time I got to spend with her. She truly did love her children and she always tried to help others. We had a lot of deep conversations and she would often open up to me about the sadness of her past. Sad to say she was fighting demons similar to many people in the world, and she had every ambition of doing right to rebuild her life. A big part of rebuilding is moving forward and surrounding yourself around the right type of people. When I was at my lowest, Kendra hand wrote me a letter and sent it to me in the jail, and I think that speaks levels to a woman who hasn’t given up on someone, despite the mentality of the “out of sight, out of mind” lifestyle most people in the world live by. I saw her really step it up and take care of those of who she was close to, and she will be missed by many. I’m saddened to know that she was hurting and wasn’t able to overcome her addiction, as it is a disease despite what others choose to believe. Her friend, Steven is a more unique character of a person, and while he as well suffered with his own madness of addiction issues, he had a big heart. A true rebel when it comes to living life on his own terms, the fact of the matter is he will be missed by his family. Truths that I can speak of are the fact that is he was an extremely talented artist. With the permission of his family, I’d like to publish his works of his art in memory, but to anyone who knew Steven he was passionate about his tattoo work and his drawings. He loved his Mother, and his siblings, and he loved animals. He had his dog Rambo, who was a best friend to him aside from Miss Kendra. Steven played guitar in addition to his artwork, and he loved playing with R.C Monster Trucks, and his drones. A man who was always able to live his life with the spirit of a “kid,” he was a person who loved life despite the lows of his past. Me and Steven as well didn’t always see eye to eye, as I believed he was capable of doing more with his life, but he was his own unique person and for that I respect. It’s unfair for any parent to lose their children, and addiction has taken the lives of many including these two souls. Gone but never forgotten, my heart goes out to both families and friends of Mr. Steven and Miss Kendra. I pray you find peace in the afterlife, and I appreciate the time I got to spend with both of you. Dedicated to the families of both, and with Love, I write these words.
Sincerely Kevin Michael Lemnah
